Argon GLF is a wolf in sheep’s clothing—don’t be fooled by the lack of rear suspension or the integrated Pinion gearbox. With the GLF, Nicolai set out to create a trail-ready hardtail that could hang on even the most technical terrain. Sure, it's an Argon hardtail, but it accepts an 160mm travel fork and 27.5˝ tires up to 2.8˝ wide, so it'll gobble up anything you can throw at it. Nicolai's proven longer, lower, slacker GEOLUTION geometry provides additional confidence. This is a radical departure for a hardtail—oriented geometry with a long wheelbase, plenty of reach, and flat steering angle that leaves you perfectly integrated into the bike. Nicolai positions the Argon GLF as an enduro hardtail. They may be the only brand to back up such a claim.
Nicolai's GPI series includes the addition of Pinion's P1.12 12-speed gearbox and Gates Carbon Drive belt system, further increasing the versatility and durability of the Argon frame. This fully-integrated drivetrain provides an ultra-wide 600% gear range while simultaneously reducing the maintenance burden associated with owning a bike. The gearbox unit is entirely sealed and requires virtually no maintenance, while the belt lasts twice as long as a chain and doesn't require lubrication.
Frame and drivetrain combos include the Pinion P1.12 Gearbox (Black, colors available for $165 surcharge), forged crank arms (170 or 175mm), twist shifter, front and rear sprockets, and belt tensioner. Because they are entirely built-to-order, Nicolai frames are available in any color imaginable and with customized sizing and geometry. Please indicate whether you’d like standard (powder or raw) or anodized paint, and standard (S, M, L, XL, XXL) or custom sizing.
Please allow 14-week ETA for these custom frames.
